The Newfoundland Club of Northern California is a great source of information.  Includes a schedule of upcoming events, (shows, draft tests, water tests, etc.) a link to the NCNC working dog site, as well as many other great club links.

Newfoundland Club of America The Newfoundland Club of America, Inc. (NCA) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1930 to encourage and promote the quality of pure-bred Newfoundland dogs and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. The NCA is the sanctioned parent breed club for the Newfoundland and is a member of the American Kennel Club.   Various educational efforts of the NCA, including the publication of Newf Tide (an award-winning quarterly magazine), cover every aspect of Newfoundland ownership. The NCA also publishes various pamphlets on the Newfoundland such as the Newf & You, a Breeder’s List, and various manuals and publications for water and draft work.  NCA Newfoundland Puppy Information Center ></a>

Newfoundland Dog Database A searchable database for Newfoundland dogs.  You can search for a particular dog by name, all the dogs from a kennel, all the dogs with a particular sire, and all the dogs with a particular dam. (by the late Richard K. Scothern)

American Kennel Club AKC maintains a registry of recognized breeds; adopts and enforces rules and regulations governing dog events; and fosters and encourages interest in, and the health and welfare of, purebred dogs. AKC also approves and maintains the official records of over 15,000 sanctioned and licensed events each year. These events, which draw nearly two million entries annually, include dog shows, field trials, obedience trials, agility trials, earthdog tests, lure coursing, hunting tests, herding trials, tracking, and coonhound events.

Orthopedic Foundation for Animals The OFA, established in 1966, is a not-for-profit organization originally created to assist breeders in addressing hip dysplasia. In recent years OFA has added databases to assist breeders in assessing elbow and patella deformities, craniomandibular osteopathy, autoimmune thyroiditis, congenital heart disease, copper toxicosis in Bedlington Terriers, and DNA databases.   In addition to its activities, OFA has provided more than $2 million in financial support to animal wellness activities. OFA currently supports canine genetic research at the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and the University of Missouri. OFA is a co-founder organization in the AKC/Canine Health Foundation and funds the Morris Animal Foundation for studies on animal wellness.

fightaa.gif (25211 bytes) is not an organization or a company.  It is one person who has dedicated the last 6 years to trying to educate the public about the commercial dog industry.  This is a great site to educate yourself and in turn, educate someone else on puppy mills, breeders, brokers, auctions and more.

Newfoundlands are captured with grace and humor by photographer Karyn L. Carpenter.  Her line of cards and prints remind us that our 4-legged friends wait patiently for our return, explore beautiful wooded roads, and at night, believe they belong in bed with us.  Her model is primarily her patient and always expressive Newfoundland, Arayo, a Capriccio Farm girl!  While browsing her web site be sure to visit the Newfoundland and pet galleries.
